Our Foundation
Exceptional fruit is built from the subterranean ground up. Resting undisturbed since 1836, our earth is an untouched network of rich mycorrhizal fungi, now nourished by an intentional, multi-layered living carpet. Deep-rooting comfrey and dandelion mine trace minerals from deep underground, while yarrow and white clover fix nitrogen and feed the living soil. Ground-hugging strawberries, wild garlic, and marigolds naturally suppress weeds, ward off pests, and build organic matter. Hydrated by our mineral-dense spring well, this living ecosystem feeds the roots continuously—producing dense, acid-balanced fruit with extraordinary depth of flavour.

We rely on living biology rather than chemical sprays to protect our harvest. Our flock of Indian Runner ducks patrols the orchard daily, devouring destructive pests and clearing fallen, disease-carrying fruit before it rots into the ground. Their movements naturally fertilise the soil and keep pest populations in check without disturbing the delicate understory of comfrey, yarrow, and wild garlic. Working alongside native bees for pollination, this pest-control squad maintains total ecological balance—ensuring clean, nutrient-dense fruit grown exactly as nature intended.

Red-Fleshed Cultivars
Pink Pearl
Baya Marisa
Cocomerina
Bred by Albert Etter in 1944, this iconic heirloom hides translucent, bright-pink flesh beneath a pale yellow skin. Delivering a crisp bite with an intense, berry-like tartness, it retains its vivid pink hue when baked—making it a legendary choice for artisan ciders, pink jellies, and high-end pastry work.
A modern German pomological triumph, Baya Marisa pairs striking dark red skin with deeply pigmented crimson flesh throughout. Highly resistant to browning, its dense flesh offers a remarkably balanced, sweet-tart flavour profile with rich berry undertones, excelling equally as a fine eating apple and a visual standout on culinary menus.
An exceptionally rare, red-fleshed pear cultivar that defies traditional pomology. Beneath its delicate russeted skin lies a deeply pigmented, ruby-pink interior overflowing with rich juice. Offering a complex balance of sweet floral notes, subtle astringency, and high tannin levels, it provides artisan cider makers, poiré producers, and chefs with an extraordinary ingredient unavailable in commercial markets.
